Question: How do I setup my Zoom DSL Router and connect my computer?
Answer:
ADSL Router Setup Instructions for the Zoom DSL Router: Ethernet
HiWAAY has already configured your router. You will need a 10BASE-T or 10/100 Ethernet Card in your computer in order to use your router's Ethernet connection.
Note: You will need to filter any actual telephone devices connected to the phone number you are using for your ADSL connection. This includes satellite TV receivers and Tivo boxes. Do NOT filter the phone line going to the router! DSL single phone line filters they are available from HiWAAY for $7.95.
Follow these simple steps and you will be connected in minutes.
Router Setup for All Computer Types:
- Attach power cord to back of router.
- Attach phone cord to router marked ADSL and to your existing phone jack.
- Attach the Ethernet cable to router's built-in hub and to your computers's Network Card or Ethernet port.
- HiWAAY has already configured your DSL router for you. You'll only need to set up your computer.
Note: You may connect up to 3 other computers to the router's built-in hub using additional ethernet cables (not supplied).

Troubleshooting:
- The PWR Light should be green.
- The ADSL light should be solid green.
- The LAN light should be green for each computer plugged into the hub.
- If the LINK light is blinking, then the router is not seeing the ADSL signal. Be sure that you have all phones on this line filtered. (Do not filter the phone line going to the Router).
- If still no solid LINK light, unplug all telephones and unplug the power to the ADSL router. Plug the ADSL router back in and see if the LINK Light has now stopped blinking.
- If the Link Light still won't stop blinking, contact HiWAAY Support at 1-888-244-9229
