Question: How do I configure Eudora Light for Windows?

Answer:

Eudora Light for Windows is very easy to install and configure. Just follow these instructions and you'll be sending and receiving email in no time! Installation:
  1. Download Eudora Light from the homepage: http://www.eudora.com/.
  2. Double Click on the program to run it.
  3. Click Next.
  4. The next window displayed is the licence agreement. Look this over and hit the Yes button when done.
  5. Next select where you want the program to be loaded. If you are not sure where, just go with the default. Next click Next.
  6. To begin copying, click Next.
Configuration: The first thing that appears when Eudora Light is started for the first time is the settings window. The column of icons on the left are used to select different settings categories.

1Under the Getting Started category, enter your "POP account" in the form loginID@hiwaay.net, where username is your Login ID from your signup sheet. Go ahead and fill in your "Real name," and make sure the settings under "Connection method" are set to Winsock.


2Next, click on the Personal Information icon on the left. "POP account" and "Real name" should carry over from the previous window. In the "Return address" field enter your email address, in the form loginID@hiwaay.net. In the "Dialup Username" field enter just your LoginID.


3Click on the Hosts icon. Once again, the "POP account" field should carry over. In the "SMTP" field, enter mail.hiwaay.net as shown below.


4The next category, Checking Mail, contains some useful preferences. If you don't want to enter your password every time you check your mail, check the box next to "Save Password."
