New State-wide HiWAAY
Huntsville, AL - HiWAAY Information Services of Huntsville, Alabama has announced the
expansion of their service area to include Birmingham, Montgomery, and outlying areas,
available in June. Establishing this new Internet backbone brings Alabama to a new level of
high-performance Internet service.
HiWAAY Information Services is a full service ISP providing dial-up and dedicated Internet
access, web site hosting, co-location, and web site design and marketing services. As the state's
largest ISP, HiWAAY now offers local access covering most of Alabama, and provides Internet
access to some of the state's largest businesses.
According to Mark Derrick, HiWAAY's General Manager, "HiWAAY is the state's only
dual-homed T-3 provider. This new T-3, ATM-based backbone runs directly between
Huntsville, Birmingham, and Montgomery. This benefits most outlying areas as well."
To accommodate this growth, HiWAAY's Huntsville office has recently built an additional 7,500
square-feet of space dedicated to their Internet Technical Support Center. The Center is
established exclusively to serve Alabama customers of HiWAAY Information Services.
The expansion of the extensive HiWAAY network will bring a new level of Internet service to
